Donut Studio
Design realistic 3D donuts with editable geometry, icing, sprinkles, materials, studio lighting, presets, and high-resolution image export.

Donut Studio started with a Blender setup containing 430 Geometry Nodes. Bringing it into the browser meant deciding which geometry to preserve and which behavior to rebuild. The app retains the donut and plate meshes from the source, then generates the editable icing and sprinkles around them.
The icing edge is built from rounded drips distributed around the ring. Their widths, depths, and positions vary through repeatable formulas, so increasing flow changes an existing pattern of unevenness. Coverage determines how far the icing wraps around the donut, while the drip profile shapes its lower edge. This gives the icing a continuous surface that the sprinkle placement can sample.
Changing the donut's proportions changes the icing surface. Sprinkles are placed against that surface, aligned to its curvature, and moved apart to reduce overlaps. The toppings therefore follow changes to the underlying shape. This dependency is part of the browser implementation, so the user can continue reshaping the donut after adding the icing and sprinkles.
Much of the food detail lives in the material. Broad variations in browning sit alongside finer pores and scanned surface textures. Moisture reduces the dough's roughness; glaze adjusts the icing's roughness separately. Those changes alter how each surface catches the light without rebuilding its outline, allowing the dough and icing to retain visibly different finishes under the same lighting.
